You simply need to add your ingredients to the bowl, lower the arm, and switch it on to begin mixing your ingredients. Ranging in price from around £60 to over £600, these sturdy machines feature at least one mixing bowl and a fixed stand with a lever-operated arm. All in all, this is a great-value-for-money machine. After cooking, however, the cake turned out well-risen with an even crumb, light and moist in texture. When mixing a cake mix at the stated maximum capacity of 2.5kg, it didn't manage to mix all the ingredients.
This stand mixer did cope very well with heavy ingredients and mixed up a great pastry dough which was crisp and flaky after baking. We were impressed by the ease of use and overall design of this stand mixer.
